Halfway Check-In: Are Your Goals Still Working for You?

We’re almost halfway through the year.

And this is usually the point where things feel… a bit different.

The excitement from the start of the year has settled.
The big goals you set might feel a little distant.
Or maybe life didn’t go exactly how you planned.

And now you’re left wondering:

“Am I on the right track?”
“Do these goals even matter to me anymore?”

So instead of pushing harder or feeling like you’re behind this is your chance to check in.

Not to judge yourself.
Not to criticise the months that have passed.

But to reset, realign, and build momentum for the second half of the year.

Question 1: What wins have you had?

We don’t ask this enough.

We go straight to:
“What didn’t work?”
“What needs to change?”
“What do I need to fix?”

But before any of that, look at what did go right.

And not just the big, obvious wins.

Look at the quiet ones.

The ones no one saw.
The ones that didn’t get posted.
The ones you brushed off as “not a big deal.”

Making it through a hard time.
Trying something new.
Showing up when it felt difficult.

These count.

More than you think.

Question 2: What are you leaving behind?

Not everything needs to come with you into the second half of the year.

Some things need to stay where they are.

Self-doubt.
Burnout.
People-pleasing.
The pressure to prove yourself constantly.

Patterns that held you back.

Beliefs that made things heavier than they needed to be.

Leaving something behind doesn’t mean ignoring it.

It means deciding you don’t want to carry it forward anymore.

Question 3: What have you learned so far?

Even if things haven’t gone to plan
especially if they haven’t gone to plan
you’ve learned something.

Maybe you’ve learned your limits.
Maybe you’ve learned your worth.
Maybe you’ve learned that you’re more capable than you thought.

Or maybe you’ve learned that something isn’t for you anymore.

That counts too.

Because learning isn’t always comfortable.

But it always moves you forward.

Question 4: What will ground you moving forward?

When things feel overwhelming…
When your mind starts racing…
When doubt creeps in…

What are you going to come back to?

A thought.
A phrase.
A reminder.

Something simple.

Something steady.

Something that brings you back to yourself.

Because you don’t need to have everything figured out; you just need something to hold onto when things feel uncertain.

There’s no perfect way to do this

You don’t need a perfectly written journal.

You don’t need deep, poetic answers.

You just need honesty.

Even if it’s messy.
Even if it’s simple.
Even if it’s just a few words.

The real purpose of these questions

This isn’t about starting over.

It’s about checking in.

So, you’re not just drifting through the year; you’re choosing how you move through the rest of it.

Final Thought

You don’t need to wait for the end of the year to reflect.

You can pause right here.

Right now.

Look at what’s working.
Let go of what’s not.
And decide what you want the next few months to look like.

Because the second half of the year?

There’s still so much time to shape it.
