As Seen On

Why Louise

Plenty of speakers can talk about culture in male-dominated industries. Very few have worked in one.

Louise Azzopardi is a keynote speaker who combines lived experience as a qualified heavy vehicle mechanic with expertise in coaching, mentoring and workplace development to deliver engaging, practical presentations that inspire action.

Beginning her apprenticeship at just 15 years of age, Louise understands firsthand the challenges of working in male-dominated industries. Rather than simply sharing her story, Louise equips audiences with practical tools, strategies and fresh perspectives that help individuals build confidence, navigate challenges and create positive workplace cultures.

Louise regularly presents at conferences, industry events, schools, leadership forums, corporate events and trade associations across Australia.

What Louise Speaks About

Real challenges. Practical conversations.
Useful takeaways.

Every keynote is shaped around the audience and the outcome you want from the event. Common speaking topics include:

01

Confidence that holds up on site

Imposter syndrome, self-doubt and the exhausting pressure to keep proving yourself. Practical tools for building confidence that comes from within rather than from other people’s approval.
02

Why women leave, and what helps them stay

Recruiting women into trades is the easy part. This session looks at what actually happens once they’re on site, and what changes retention.
03

Leading a team where everyone belongs

Built for supervisors, leading hands and managers. What inclusive leadership looks like in practical terms on a worksite, not in a policy document.
04

The conversations nobody wants to have

Psychological safety, respect at work and how to raise a problem without being labelled difficult. Useful for the people raising issues and the leaders receiving them.
05

From apprentice to WorldSkills

Louise’s own story, from starting at 15 to representing Australia internationally. A strong fit for schools, career expos and events aimed at the next generation.
06

Building the next generation

What attracts young women to trades, what puts them off, and what industry can do differently.

What People Say

Creating Ongoing Connection Beyond International Women's Day

mycar first brought Louise in to speak at their International Women’s Day event, delivered online to teams across Australia with a live Q&A and networking session afterwards.

The feedback was clear. People valued the practical answers as much as the story. So mycar turned a one-off keynote into a quarterly program: half practical learning, half facilitated discussion, open to women working in the workshops and in customer-facing AutoCrew roles.

The program demonstrated how combining practical education with facilitated peer connection can strengthen confidence, belonging and engagement across geographically dispersed teams.
